After many phone attempts and two letters, I have finally got Orange to concede that they were limiting my ADSL line speed (I was on 512k for a LONG time, despite it supposedly being an "unlimited" package, and it was only after two strongly-worded letters showing that the Livebox was happily showing a possible connection speed of 3Mbit that it was 'upgraded'), and I now have a connection which is being made at much higher speed; each time it has connected it has been 2400kB or higher.
I am not getting this speed, however; BT Speedtester is showing that my line is set at 500k (which is consistent with my original 576kbps broadband). I have waited the 5 days which some say is necessary, although the speed change that has been made should be taken care of in around 12 hours from what I've read of BT's documentation.
This looks like a stuck IP profile to me. All I want is the broadband I'm paying for to actually work at the speed it should. Any comments?
