initally connected at above speed...was told on stabilization period by CS/indian technical
speed never changed AT ALL for 10days
spoke to TECH was told stabilization takes 14 days (is he havin a laff)
speed went to 15.5mbps with SNR of 13
following day went back to 7158 and stayed there since
over £13 spent on calls to CS and Tech
got escalated to engineer call back
got msg sayin fault on line would be resolved in a few days and would call back if any probs
several days later...NOTHING still at 7158
spoke to CS this morning they say 8meg is max i can get, and that i cant get out of contract without penalty

as you can see from my stats this cap of 8meg is ludicrous
worst thing was the fact i had a stable connection for 1day of 15.5 with more room for improvement
yet now they insist that 8meg is the maximum i can obtain grrrrrrrr
really wish they would either sort it for good or allow me to get out of the contract...with all the years ive been online since dial up days this has to be the worst customer support ive ever encountered
i would appreciate other comments from tech heads like myslef so that if Orange read this they can see that my line stats prove i can obtain almost the 20meg connection
that is exactly the figure i quoted to Orange and even insisted that id be happy with between 16 and 19meg....but they are ademant that my line can only take 8meg

I have been on 1Meg for 4 weeks and over 2 weeks of that chasing Orange up to no avail!!!!!!!
I have given up now, I am asking for my MAC code and demanding Orange do not invoke any contract clauses because as far as I am concerned, they have not kept their side of the contract!
