I have been a customer with Orange for app. 20 months. 10 months of which have been spent in my current property. I had been getting anywhere from 2mb - 5mb downstream, all good! Until my connection got capped from downloading too much, downstream was limited to 50kBps. Orange then sent me a letter telling me my connection was now un-capped, that was almost 2 months ago, yet still only getting 50kBps downstream. After 10+ phone calls to Orange's shocking customer service / technical support not 1 single person can tell me whats wrong. I have had a BT BroadBand engineer to my property who replaced my master socket, filters, router calbes, also checked phone line outside aswell as the phone exchange. Everything works 100%. Have also brand new telephone. Telephone and Router both plug into filter, the directly in master socket, no extensions! BT engineer got 4Mbps downstream on his laptop with his router on the BT service yet Orange still only provide me 50kBps. The router has been tested. 100% ok. Multiple line checks have passed. My router settings have been reset, still 50kBps. I have tried wired and un-wired with only a gain of 10kBps on wired. also tried 2 seperate laptops, no change. IP Profile is also set to max. ALL MY EQUIPMENT TESTED 100%. BT PHONE LINE TESTED 100%. PHONE EXCHANGE TESTED 100%. Unless my telephone exchange grew legs and ran 20 miles away? HELP ME, ORANGE CANT
How can I test my monthly broadband usage? I'm looking to get a mobile broadband provider so i can use my laptop at home in the UK and while i'm out and about, but i'm not sure what deal to enter a contract on. I play a lot of games online (2 to 3 hours a day, 7 to 10 hours a day at the weekend) and email regularly (5 a day). Would a 15GB package be enough to cover my needs?
