I've noticed that I and others only have this problem when we have an IP address which is within a certain range - approx 84.64.64.x to 84.64.255.x

I've been able to fix it about 10 times simply by re-connecting to get an IP address outside the affected range.

(For those that don't know how to check/change their IP address, this link:

http://67.15.225.36/ ( http://www.showmyip.com/ )

will show your current IP address, and powering off a router/Livebox for 30mins should give a new IP address.)

what has gone wrong in the first place though, this never happened until recently

I'd assume from that the Orange DNS servers are each setup to service a certain range of IP addresses meaning if the routing tables got corrupted on one/some then this is why it's not effecting everyone.

) I've no idea. You could try asking Orange.

Orange seem to have fixed the problem. I can now get to most of the websites mentioned by posters here from an IP address in the affected range.

(I'd advise anyone who 'solved' the problem by turning off their Livebox firewall to try turning it back on.)
