It seems that Orange have been having problems on and off with their DNS servers recently.
All other aspects of the broadband connection look to be fine (the router says it is connected), but any attempt to vist any web page results in a 'DNS error'.
One way I was able to resolve this was to edit the IP address for the secondary DNS server in my router config.
You can use the OpenDNS servers. Their IP addresses are:
208.67.222.222
and 208.67.220.220
I have left my primary DNS server set to the Orange IP address, so if it works that will be used - if not, I can still surf using the OpenDNS server.
