Okay I don't know whether it has anything to do with the Livebox or whether Orange is just rubbish but I seem to get disconnected randomly off Xbox Live any time after 5.30.
Also every now-and-then it will decide on it's own accord that it wants to reset itself and this 'click' sound is heard when it does so. This kicks everything offline when it happens.
And I am getting annoyed because It seems I have to pull the power cord, wait 30 seconds, put it back in and then wait 3 mins for it to come back online all too much. I have to do this almost every 20-30 mins after 5.30 in order to even hear my friends voice's on Xbox Live. I see no reason why it is doing this which is why I'm annoyed.
I'm on an 8Mb connection, using a static IP to open ports that are need for clean gaming (supposedly). It does this every day, not just often.
I would really like some answers as Orange seem incapable of answering any question of mine.
Do u use xbox only after 530 or several times a day.. from what i can read, i have a feeling ur livebox is rebooting itself . This happens when
a) your livebox power adapter is fluctuating and needs to be replaced,
b) u might be using a surge protector. stop using it for sometime to see if it makes a difference. u will know if it does.
Of course i could be completely off the road here. but just trying to help!! : )
That click could be the firmware within the livebox btw... if u call Orange they wont help as they have restricted access/support.. and frm what i know dont support static Ip addresses.. even if u use port forwarding..
also if u want u can check by using the internet after 5 30 to see if it disconnects from that too...and if it does please note down the status of the ADSL (@ light) at that very moment..
This can also be caused by electrical interference. It may be due to christmas lights, central heating systems, garage doors, lighting (dimmer switches), alarm systems etc. Have you, or your eighbours changed anything recently? May also be an idea to change the channel number
