I've just got off the phone with Orange and they claim that my exchange is still LLU enabled despite what SamKnows says, it has been upgraded to 20mbps and should be live within the next 24 hours.
They also stated that the new system is as much about addressing stability issues with the network (which they admitted to on the phone in a very script reading way) as it is with increasing speed.
Well, I'll let you know what happens tomorrow night, apparently the 20mbps connection will be active by then.
I have my doubts, router reports "ADSL_G.dmt" not ADSL2 and my rural exchange isn't showing Orange LLU anymore on SamKnows. I have my suspicions they've dumped the LLU on it rather than upgrade it since it's only got 6000 properties connected to it.
Does this kicks in automatically for existing users or what, spoke to an indian guy on the phone and he said, i ll have to take a new package or upgrade to get up to 20mb.

I just stumbled on this site and the fact that Orange are offering 20 meg soon.
I just checked my exchange on sam knows and it is Orange LLU, I also checked my router and it says its connected via ADSL2+, im getting pretty excited now lol.
I currently connect at bang on 8 meg and 600 something upload so hopefully ill get a good speed.
I assume Orange is going to upgrade everyone automatically, at least I hope so.
A bit off topic, and in the wrong place I know, but does anyone know why Orange ping times are so crappy? _Every_ ISP ive ever had at this address (quite a lot) ive been able to get a ping of 20-30ms to most decent UK servers, on Orange this seems to always be 50-60ms+ at any time of day/night (interleaving is off). A bit annoying seeing im really into my pc online gaming. Oh well..
rang them tonight. Ive got Mobile, Home Phone and Internet with them, phone and bb comes to £15 they told me I would have to pay £17 pounds for the 20 meg and it would be £2 a month more expensive because I need a new router to work with it because it needs a 'N' router. I tried to explain to him that thats just the wireless range and the existing livebox was fine and is connected via ADSL2+ right now just at 8meg speeds and also that I had a spare belkin router that would also work fine but he was having none of it - idiot.
I went ahead with it anyway then right at the end of the order he told me there was a problem and I had to ring another number, the lady on that number said theres just a problem with there system at the moment and I should be able to order it tomorrow.
Oh Orange, so funny. After telling me there was a problem and they couldnt put me onto the 20 meg, and to ring back the next day... well I forgot about it and never got round to it, only to find that today im connected at 12 meg?(oh and on my old Orange livebox that apparently couldnt work at over 8 meg!) lol funny Orange.
Just to update, it looks like the Orange sales rep was full of hot air.
I haven't been upgraded to 20mbps, have had no word for them and seeing as I can now run BT speedchecks it's seems like my exchange has in fact been put back onto IP stream.
Just got a bill through and they're still billing me for LLU so I dunno what's going on.
I've emailed support and sales support to find out what's going but haven't had an answer. I'll chase them up on the phone soon but I doubt I'll get any straight answer.
