I can go one further with email problems! I've had the same email address for the past eight years. All of a sudden, I cannot retrieve emails. Outlook Express tells me that there are no new messages (even though I know there are!). If Outlook was at fault, you'd expect to be able to retrieve emails using Webmail - that too tells me that there are no messages.
Have rung the Orange Helpline (what a misnomer!!) several times only to be read the usual scripts! I sent an email to Orange (using another email address of course) and they have just replied - after a month!! After threatening to cancel my subscription, one of their technical guys did call me - and even he was baffled. He was going to consult colleagues but even that has gone quiet again! I think it's soon time to tell Orange what they can do with their service. If the future's Orange, God help us!!
Hi long-time no post. BUT I too, from about the same time, suddenly can’t access my old Freeserve email accounts nor the old dial up account. If I go to web mail it tells me that the account is not currently available. On Outlook and Mailwasher I get bad username or password.
I’ve tried changing pop server name to orangehome, but to no avail
I made an on-line query on the Orange website and got the “we’ll reply within 5 days” auto-response, 7 days ago. I’ll be blown if I’m going to pay Orange to phone them for them not to solve the problem. Some things never change with Orange, do they

Sorry to read of your email problems. I work for Orange and may be able to help.
If you can email your landline numbers/broadband account numbers and best contact numbers to customer.services@orange.co.uk, I'll give you a ring to discuss.
So I can pick up your mails quickly, please add 'Jonathan Orange Response' in the first line.
So I email this "Jonathan" from Orange with all the details required but I've still heard nothing! Perhaps he does not exist and this is just a ploy by Orange to make them look good??!! Or am I being cynical??!!
And to add insult to injury, I've just discovered that I've spent over £5 worth of telephone calls calling the Orange "Helpline" - might have just as well donated it to Children in Need - it would have done more good!
So I email this "Jonathan" from Orange with all the details required but I've still heard nothing! Ditto.
I also, at his invitation emailed Jonathan, got the will reply in 24hours autoreply and have heard nothing.
I suspect that Orange have deleted my freeserve email/dial-up account, taken down the old mail server or reset the password. Whatever they have done it is a simply enough thing to check and respond to either of my two emails.
After the experiences I had two years ago and reading recent posts here to see little has changed, I refuse to phone the take-your-money-no-help line.
I've sent him (them?) a PM to see if that gets a response.

Apologies to Jonathan, he did indeed reply and I can now access the old accounts.
I'd been timed out due to not dialling up for 219 days. I thought I had, but obviously hadn't.

Here we are eight weeks on and I still cannot access my principal email account. Twice now (most recent last night) Orange have told me that the problem is resolved when it clearly isn't!!
I've heard of "distorting the truth" but Orange take the biscuit!!
Do you still own and use the internet account that's linked to this email address? Access to accounts provided with an internet service are kept active by the livebox.
That seems a bit odd, have you tried emailing the executive office? (Sorry don't have the address to hand). They are usually very good at promptly resolving issues.
Oh yes indeed! I keep getting telephone calls saying that they are still trying to resolve the issue - but after 8 weeks it is getting somewhat tiresome!
Surprise surprise!! My email is working again - so Orange must have finally conceded that it was their fault all along and actually done something about it because I certainly have not changed anything on my pc.
I wonder how many important emails I've missed in the 8+ weeks I've been without this email address!!??

Hi David, hope you don't mind me asking but any idea who may have finally solved your email problems?? I am having terrible trouble sorting out access to my fsmail.net account. It stopped working on wed last week and no one at Orange seems to be able to help. Some how the settings on that account have changed and no longer match me!! Tryiing very hard to get it resolved. Any info following your experience would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Jo Arnold
It would seem that the only way you are ever going to get Orange to own a problem is to threaten to cancel your Broadband and go elsewhere. Hopefully someone from Orange will read your posting and contact you - I'll see if I can find the email address of the person from Orange who contacted me.
