I posted the other day, saying I couldn't configure my Router. We finally got it sorted and I was very happy, as finally after two weeks of fiddeling, we could actually get on the net.
When I then tried to get on yesterday we were down again. I have no idea what is wrong. My ethernet status now says that I have a self precribed IP address and that I cannot connect to the internet. I tried to change my ethernet settings to the numbers someone gave me here on this site (192.186.1... or what ever they are) but I simply don't understand what I am doing with the whole network settings thing. Is there and idiots guid to this?
I can't understand why it is not working now, when we were happily up and running the other day!?
Please help. I know nothing of these things!!
The ethernet connection status seems so show something different every time. First it said that it had a self assigned IP address and could not connect to the internet. Now it says "Built in Ethernet is currently active and has IP address 192.168.1.1
You are connected to the itenet via built in ethernet." But we still can't get it to work. Everytime you try the browser it just says it can't find the requested server. I do have the DHCP for configuration.
