i was suffering with an intermittent broadband connection problem and during the troubleshooting stage Orange reduced my speed from approx 6.5mb to 1mb
eventually the connection problem was resolved by BT coming to replace a faulty junction box. As soon as this issue was fixed i no longer had intermittent drop out and my attainable download rate visible on my livebox info page went up from about 1600 to 5671.
the problem is that Orange are still restricting my service to 1mb and despite numerous calls and promises that the situation will be resolved i am still waiting for the restriction to be removed.
here is the info page from the livebox
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : ADSL2
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 34.5
Attenuation (dB) : 15.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 5671
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 1021 285
If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this i would be most grateful. I currently call Orange on Mondays and speak to level 2 support who promise me this will be resolved within 5 days and it's now been going on for like 3 months...
