I have recently moved to South Oxfordshire and moved my Orange "upto 8MB" broadband from the Reading area with me. The switch over was very smooth. The service in my new home is not.
The Livebox would lose connection several times a day. The Livebox would need a reboot between 2 days and every day. Last night we lost all connection. No DSL light.
Tried an old and trusted Linksys on the line. Still no DSL.
Called Orange tech support. After 20 odd minutes got through. Did the Livebox checking (switch off, remove all cables, press and hold the 1 button, attach power cable only, check for Three solid lights (the middle 3 out of the 5), release the 1 button. All ok but still no link.
Tech support said they would get an engineer to check the line and I am to call back on Thursday.
BTW I still get a dialtone and am able to make calls on the BT line.
Also tried hooking up to the main BT socket with everything else disconnected - still no joy.
What are my chances with an engineer looking at the line?
Anyone on Orange in the Kidmore End area having similar problems?
If you can email your landline number/broadband account number and best contact number to customer.services@orange.co.uk, I'll give you a ring to discuss.
So I can pick up your mail quickly, please add 'Jonathan Orange Response' in the first line.
I have jumped the gun. I got home last night and the DSL light was flashing slowly rather than rapidly. I logged into the Livebox and tried to reconnect. No luck but I then notices that my broadband username had been reset to "pppuser" or something similar. I put my correct username and password into the Livebox, clicked connected and hey presto am back on line.
Thankyou for the offer of help. I may well email you as I am interested in what the engineer(s) did to resolve the problem.
