O.k I'll throw a little story into the mix, though the irony of this site isn't lost on me - as how does a person on a wanadoo connection get here in the first place.
Wanadoo Dialup, my first experience, while living with my folks. I asked them if it was metered, i.e pay by the minute, like a phone bill - this being way "back in the day" of course....answer "Im sorry sir but we cant talk about that" - At that point after a very long and fruitless conversation I was going to ask her what colour panties she was wearing, but I was afraid she might actually tell me - it WAS metered btw, on top of my £14.99pm bill.
Wanadoo Broadband - boy was i excited, From those hippie adverts I though i might actually get stoned using it. My green Alcatel Speedtouch modem did arrive 2 weeks later and 45 minutes later I was talking to "technical support". 4 days later I got it working, thnx to my own technical savy, only every night arround 9/10 oclock it would disconnect for 2 hours - EVERY night and it stayed that way. After numerous calls to technical support and nightmares of a woman standing over me saying "your call is important to us - please hold the line" I got them to send an engineer from BT out to the house to check the "Gain" on the line. Put simply he told me there was nothing wrong with it and smirked when I told him what modem I was using - errrr, USB isn't mean t to transfer large amounts of data for long periods of time.....right......of course.....
A year later, another ISP(Nildram) and NO problems whatsoever I get a call from a friend asking me to setup his wanadoo wireless connection - so off I go. 2 weeks later I still haven't got it working. Yes I phoned technical support and yes I waited.....and waited...and waited and after telling the "techie" that dial-up was removed from the TCP/IP settings, that IE was set to Never Dial a connection, that my NIC was installed properly, that Id "Paired" my wireless Livebox to my Inventel USB dongle and plugged another computer in via the Ethernet port AND accessed the puny Router configuration page and verified the settings he says "hum...well you seem to know what your doing...let me consult a colleague"....silence....muttering in the background....more silence.....even more silence.....ring tone.....he hung up.My Friend Is P*ssed and after another 45min wait he makes it Known that hes P*ssed and I finally get some useful assistance.
Of course to cut an already long story short Wanadoo didn't support the third party wireless Intel Pro chip that he had in his laptop and the wanadoo third party support help page gives the wrong information - to this day(I used TKIP instead of shared encryption) and his daughter can only use the laptop when she lays on the floor of her bedroom, but I've "convinced" him to switch over to Nildram who don't do firmware updates to your router(which you buy, not rent) - whose technical support is first rate and whose monthly contracts I can cancel anytime I want.
The moral of the story? - Alcatel Speedtouch USB modems make great Frizbies and a Livebox looks AND acts like a bookend.
....hmmm.....well, one can only comment as one finds and the only experience I have of Wanadoo TS is from two emails I sent them. I received very helpful replies to both within 12 hours...so that must be an excellent vote fror me then!

Any issues I've had have been sorted out pretty damn quickly, I'd say the majority of them were great. I generally don't need to call them though, I've been around PC's/Networks etc all my life, so I know what I'm doing.

I don't think it helps that much to know about PCs and networks. I work in a CS department of a university and have also been a sys admin. In my experience that only made the "technical support" more frustrating as I knew that their suggested problems couldn't be the real cause.
I think the goodness of the technical suport depends upon whether your problem fits neatly into one of the possibilities along their script. If it does, then they probably can sort it out quickly. If it doesn't then you're screwed
