For months on end slow speeds ( below 1 meg, then complain for about a week threaten offcom and speed goes up to 3 meg overnight, slowly through the month the speed drops off, another round of complaining and back up to 2 meg plus.
This week speed down to 0.420 phoned complained wanted MAC number refused to give me it, instead gave me 3 months free broadband, got to laugh, it comes free in my mobile package.
well enough is enough, tomorrow phone call insist on MAC number and off to PlusNet or BT not sure yet, but whoever it is it has to be better than this COWBOY outfit.

ill see if i can help - i need the following information
first do a speed test on here - www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk and post your results with a wired connection and wireless if you use that but wired connection is important
secondly go to www.thinkbroadband.com and down the left side click availabity checker - click the BTW availability checker and put ya phone number in and paste the results but remember to take your phone number out
thirdly ring Orange and ask them to answer the questions:
am i on IStream or LLU?
what speed am i provisions on? and is that speed after and speed regrades been done through raised faults
get me that info and ill explain it to you

Thanks for the offer but this info has been fed to Orange time and time again and all I get is we have downgraded the speed so it is reliable!!! it was very reliable for the two years I had 2/3 meg, without a problem, they have put their own hardware in the exchange, cant remember what they called it, closing down the bandwidth I have paid for and capping the speed.
I appreciate the offer you have made but I have carried out test after test, the line is capable of 3 meg, as I say I get it when I complain, but then after a few weeks it goes back to snail pace, at the moment it is faster for me to use my old dialup with PlusNet than it is on Orange broadband.
I have really had it with them, they are finished in my book, even if as they have promised Tuesday will see 3 Meg return, its the insecurity of the service they fail to provide to people that get sucked into their advertising hype.
Once again thank you, T.T.G. but I dont care anymore, they lie and do not supply what they offer as a product, they are history, roll on some other reliable ISP.
Tuesday came and Tuesday went, my speed never came and has still not 16:00hrs Wednesday, phoned as requested yesterday and they told me that it had been fixed????? no it had not, they then checked the line and said their seems to be a fault, ( this was mentioned by me some weeks ago ) they have told me "we will look into it but it could take a week or so to reconsile".
I have just made contract with PlusNet on a monthly basis, cant stand talking to Orange any more, they are history.
Guess what guys, still running on 512 had masses of calls from that great company Orange telling me exactly what I already knew, the speed is slow, but I must not worry as they have a man working on it????? so I have been told every day this week, all I have done is waste money in phone calls to them, waht a bunch of Wan**rs they all are, not one person in the whole company can give a time of repair, or tell the truth, we have had this week, yes a lot of people in your area are complaining its BTs fault at the exchange, no you have the fastest speed available, we acknowledge you did have two meg a couple of weeks ago but, we had to slow it down to make it stable, and the best of all There is nothing wrong with your connection we have checked the line, Bollo**s Orange you are crap and you know it.
Well guys been changed over to PlusNet now for a week, the days of Orange are gone, my blood pressure is down I have stopped trying to understand Indian language and the cherry on the cake running at 3 meg constant, the fault that Orange said was beyond them it was BTs problem to hard for them to fix, a change of ISP and its all done, fast and reliable service speeds, I feel great, so Jonathan, and all the other Orange slackers who want to poke their nose in on this site just toprolong the payments and agony, you my dear chaps can now P*ss Off.
No fines or charges, they did try and would not at first give me my MAC code, closed the DD and they knew no more money in the pot, and they really did not have a leg to stand on if I took it further, Orange did not and refused to give the service they advertised, and in English law they cannot charge if you go with someone who can, they may try, but have not a leg and back off when you challenge them, it would cost them so much more and the bad publicity is not what they want. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MOVE. A very happy moved out ex Orange customer.
Im leaving for the exact same reasons as you for Three weeks my Internet has slowed down more and more and im paying £7 a month for Internet slower than my last ISP its horrid.
you did right cause i sick to death of these pri*cksaswell, slow speeds randomlly disconnected at times after been stable for daay's at a time allways seems to be 3 days then they change my sync speed, then when you ring them all you get is the same old rubbish as you know to start with i would just love to punchthere fu*kin light's out sometimes
like last night playin on line cod4 7pm all is fine then they disconnected me speed dropped half untill i rebooted the livebox this morning after 9 am cause that's when you sync better!!!!
