Im in a Orange mobile and broadband contract with Orange, i get the broadband free with the phone, my contract dont end until may but i was thinking i can just leave the broadband anytime since im not paying for it. and also im not leaving the phone contract so im still with them. Just that i want to keep the phone, but not the broadband because i want to go to 02 for that. thanks
If you are the account holder you should call and ask for a MAC code so you can migrate to o2 (now Sky) - this will not affect your mobile account. When you migrate you should be offline for about 30 minutes. This would be the best way to terminate your contract without any additional charges.
The other method of leaving would be to follow the normal cancellation process. You would have to give 30 days notice, then you would have to wait up to 10 days for the broadband marker to be removed from the line before registering with o2 (now Sky). It would then take them up to 10 working days to complete the broadband provision. There would also be a disconnection fee of £24.61 to remove the broadband marker from the line.
