Hi just woundering if any one can explain to mean.

Have a netgear dg834 v4 updates aswell,when using this router the connection speed is allways less than the livebox.

please explain to me why if you can!!!!

Most routers perform best when their chipset is matched to the DSLAM chipset.

So if the DSLAM is running Broadcom then routers with Broadcom chipsets are more likely to perform well than a router using a TI or Conexant chipset.

You can't rely on a router manufacturer using the same chipset in all their models either, eg Netgear use both Broadcom and Texas Instruments.

Yours has a Broadcom but the v1 and v3 use TI-AR7.

right i see,thanks for the reply i think livebox will be used than the netgear,but 1 thing puzzleing me that the attentuation on livebox says 59.5 but the netgear says 63.5 can't understand that!!!!

No two routers will give the same attenuation or if they do it's luck, but they should give a similar result.

I would accept a difference of 4dB as in your example but if it was 14dB then there may be a problem.
