I am currently on BB Unlimited and I am considering transferring to Home Max. I think it is unlikley that my exchange is on LLU so it would probably be on a rented line. I currently have an excellent connection getting 6.5 to 7MB download speed. Is there a risk that I may get an inferior service?
Looking around the various forums for broadband, there does seem to be more problems being created when an ISP makes any degree of change to their service.
Whether it's from IPStream to LLU or ADSL to ADSL2+ or from a 2Mb connection to an 8Mb connection, there always seems to be an element of "risk" to the user.
This doesn't just apply to Orange but to several (not all) ISPs and doesn't necessarily mean it is solely the ISPs' faults.
yes if you care about customer service and if you have a local answering machine. Orange killed my expensive and vital answering machine when i switched from BT. they put me on a call minder service (max 10 messages then it stops) which i didn't have and which you have to request from BT (even though its free).
Unless you have a very good reason to change i'd keep away from Orange.
