I have an email address ending freeserve.co.uk, I also have a domain name registered with UKSeervers. Mail sent to this domain is simply redirected to the same freeserve address. This has worked fine for years. Since late August email sent to the domain name stopped being received into my inbox in Vista windows mail, however Email sent directly to the freeserve address is still being received ok. The email is being redirected ok because I can see it when I log on to email from the Orange website.
I turned logging on within mail to look at the pop3 conversation, but I can't find where the log file is on vista. So I booted up my old windows 98 box with outlook express to look at the log on that, but on that machine all the mail from the domain was received ok, so it looks like a vista problem. Any one else experienced this, or can anyone tell me where the pop3 log is held in Vista?
Looks like its not Vista or Orange but me. Don't remember changing mail settings, but fixed the problem by removing the user@ part of the Email user name on the incoming mail server for the account.
No it's not me its Orange. The envelope-to in the internet headers for the mail being forwarded has changed from my freeserve address to the domain address. Pre late august
it was Envelope-to: xxx@xxxxxxxxxx.freeserve.co.uk
