I know pretty much NOTHING about these things so if anyone replies please keep it 'idiot' safe.
We resently recieved out pack for Orange broad band. Trying to install it we have got this far:
•We have connacted the router to phone soccet and computer,
•we have got as far as to see our router through a web address given to us by Orange.
•This leads u to the Inventel site (apparently my Router).
•When clicking "configure" we get up a box which requiers typing a user name and password.
•We then type in "admin" in both.
•Once this is done all the that happens is that the browser blinks every now and again...looking as if it is thinking. What is wrong why can't I talk to my router?
A friend suggested things may not be set up correctly in ny network bit on my computer. I know nothing about the network settings. What can I do. I know noone who can help!!!
Argh!
If you're using Safari it's known to have problems accessing the livebox config pages. If you can try and get hold of the Firefox browser (best option in this case really as going to another computer more than once would be a hastle) or possibly take the livebox to another computer so it can be used to set the username and password for the connection. Doesn't need to be connected to the line for this, just the power and computer so it can set them.
Thanks for your tip. I am now up and running. Got some help from a friend. Something about my network setup and...after a few more calls to Orange it was discovered that they had given us the wrong password!!!!
I shall forgett about those frustrated nights in front of the computer we've had lately and try not to swear under my breath every time I speak to an Orange custmer services representative!
At least we're there now, right!?
This guys great I followed his slideshow and when I ran into trouble I gave him a call. All sorted.

I must add that I think the Firefox thing is a Myth.
The user & password thing comes up in my Safari but I am using the latest tiger version.
Well previously it was pretty hit and miss if it could access the pages ok. Things seem to have got a lot better since the latest safari version / last firmware update though.
