was "upgraded" to adsl max in June

Have a theoretical max of 2mb on my home starter package

noticed t'internet was very slow- ran BT speedtest and here's what I got

DSL connection rate= 2528kbps downstream, 448 upstream

IP profile for your line- 135kbps

download speed 96kbps

Now, I thought the IP profile should be about 80% of the dsl rate, ie 80% of 2528 brings me back to the 2meg speed

So why the bloody helll am I stuck at 135 IP profile and 96kbps download??

Have repeated the test twice with same results, also plugged router into master socket, disconneceted all phones- no change

Have called Orange helpline and they are " looking in to it"

Just wondering if I've been " capped" for some reason

router stats are as follows

max line rate=3264 kbps down, 448 up
noise margin 6db down, 21 db up
attenuation 56db down, 31 db up
output power 18dbm down, 12 dbm up

Not impressed

Any thoughts appreciated

With a 6dB SNRM it looks suspiciously like a stuck IP Profile. If the SNRM remains at 6dB and the IP Profile remains at 135kbps, then this would confirm it.

Only BT (Orange need to arrange it) can manual intervene and re-set the Profie.

Have run a few more speed tests- DSL now at 3424kbps, IP profile still at 135kbps, download speed now 55kbps

Have rang the call centre ( india ) on saturday who've said they will test the line and call me back Monday morning ( today )

Anyone like to guess if they've called??

Nope......

If this doesn't get sorted by the end of the week, I'm tempted to get a MAC code and go elsewhere- although if it's a stuck IP profile would it make any difference who the ISP is??
