From bbc.co.uk News
Service has been restored to customers of Orange broadband following an outage on Thursday, the company has said.
The firm has said that a separate incident that led to customers being unable to access emails on Blackberry devices has also been solved.
Orange said that the email problem was due to vandalism of critical cables.
It has not said what caused the problems for its broadband customers but said it fixed the problem shortly after being identified.
However, BBC News website reader Kieran Casey said that he first noticed the problem at 900 BST on Thursday. At 1400, he said that he had spoken to Orange which had told him that a fix would be another few hours.
For such a large company to have these problems going on for so long is ridiculous, said Mr Casey.
Orange broadband, previously known as Wanadoo, has nearly one million fixed broadband subscribers around the UK.
The firm, which has more than 15 million mobile customers, recently announced that it would merge its UK mobile business with T-Mobile.
We are aware that some BlackBerry customers experienced difficulty accessing emails, said a spokesperson on Thursday.
We can confirm the issue was a result of vandalism to cabling infrastructure, supplied to us by a third party provider in the Heathrow area of London.
In a separate incident, some of our broadband customers may have encountered issues accessing the internet earlier today. We can confirm this matter was fixed shortly after being identified and full service was also resumed.
