I'm no techie but I thought I'd share this little gem. I have recently taken delivery of an iphone 3Gs on Orange and had problems gettinn my Orange.net email address working.
I'd successully set up the email account on the phone, so Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; Add Account; Add Mail Account. Then filled in my address and password and the phone pulled back the correct incoming mail server (pop.orange.net) and outgoing mail server (smtp.orange.net). No problem there. However, each time I clicked on the Mail icon I received an unable to connect to pop.orange.net error.
After speaking to Orange tech support they told me the password you normally log on with differs from the pop password, so ideally you need to set them both to the same thing.
To rectify this you need to log onto your Orange.net email account on the internet (via PC not the phone), then go into My Settings, Change My Pop Password. Change this to match your other password.
