hi having read various post i take it for granted now that Orange broadband is rubbish from 5pm to 11pm for gaming. Playing COD 4 was fine upto Nov last year then something changed. From then till now my pings on different servers is fine all day until peak times then pings jump from 44 to 120, 58 to 89 etc. this seems worst then having a stable 70 ish ping.
My question is why having done speed tests at lag/peak times the result is correct (approx. 1890) for my 2.2mb connection, but gaming is almost impossible. Can Orange throttle traffic just by type? i.e gaming but let normal browsing go through (as the test seems to show)
Like i say COD4 laggs on 6-7 different servers but only at peak times.
Also the helpdesk answer of "The capacity of the network is not
unlimited and is shared among users" is right but if the problem is so large then more investment should be made to overcome this surely!
