For some unknown reason, I'm having wireless problems with the LiveBox. As the title states, I'm only connected at 1 Mbps.
The signal strength is 'excellent' and incidently, there's no problem when I'm connected on a 'wired' (connection) - connected at 54 Mbps btw. I've had the LiveBox for nearly a year now, and up until today, there were no problems.
I've changed to nearly every channel (from a total of 13) , from the LiveBox, but no improvement unfortunately.
I'm using 2 laptops, and the same problem is occurring with both. One's on XP and the other's on Vista; the XP laptop has an external WiFi card, and as mentioned, the Vista (one) has an internal one.
I find it pretty impossible that both cards would somehow dis-function at the same time. Re. the external card, I also re-installed that (software included), but no change.
There's about 3 other people near me who are on a wireless network, and I can assure you, my connection is 'protected'. But this shouldn't really make any difference since this was as before, and there were no problems.
Have re-setted (and re-installed) everything from scratch, but still no joy. Is there a fault within the wireless feature of the LiveBox ?
If you're on LLU then you get an error message if you're not then you see the log in screen.
I don't get an error message as such; after I've typed in my telephone number, a few seconds later, it shows a prompt saying the site is busy (and to try again later).
You're synced at 8061kbps with a SNRM of 20.4dB although your line is capable of syncing at a much higher rate because your attenuation is 16dB.
It's the SNRM which is limiting your throughput.
If you have an NTE5 (with the removable lower half frontplate) then plug the router into the test socket behind the frontplate and check the stats again

Do you mean the actual phone socket (when you refer to an NTE5) ? - unfortunately, it's going to be a bit tricky if I do that; the LiveBox is connected to the telephone line via an extension.
But the thing is, this was all as before, and everything was working perfectly. What could have caused this drop in speed ?

Do you mean a hard-wired extension socket or an extension lead from the main linebox ? If it's a lead then that could be the cause of your problem.
To be fair, you can't say "this was all as before, and everything was working perfectly"....this is electrics and electronics, items in these categories do fail without warning
Yes, I mean the main BT linebox....it's the only way to exclude the cabling in your house. It may be tricky but it's important that you do it.
EDIT : I made an error re. your sync.....I think it's 806.1kbps......God how I hate how the Livebox Mini reports data

Yes; the Livebox is connected via an extension, to the main (telephone) socket.
Also want to mention, if I have a wired connection, everything's absolutely fine, so that eliminates any wiring problem; it's the wireless that causing a problem.
Would it be best if I asked Orange to send me another Box, since it seems the wireless function is at fault (within the Box) ? - and would they send me the replacement without any questions ?
