I am new to this, I recently joined this lightspeed communications (Bahrain) with the premium package 4000 http://www.lightspeed.bh/premi...ckages.php. This guy came to set it up today but since we already had a router (That is, Linksys WAG200G) he offered to set the connection on it, I was completely clueless so I agreed. (He brought this "Livebox" with him too but he did not set it up since he did everything on our linksys). However, after he left, I started to test how well things are with the new connection & I noticed the unbelievable fluctuation in the speed. In a matter of a sec the speed would go from 700kb/s (or so) to 1kb/s (refering to the netmeter graph). Is this normal or is there something wrong? My two main questions now are (Sorry, but my knowledge about this is probably 0%)
- Is it a MUST to use the livebox? (Even though the network works fine on my Linksys -With the exception of the speed fluctuation)
- Is the speed fluctuation normal? (Since its been recently set up - today that is) & If it is normal, how long do I have to wait so that its stable?
I would appreciate any feedback, please, I need the help urgently
