i know it cost wanadoo to install their own equipment in the exchanges, but how much per customer do they save.
i had a figure of around £10 per customer per month in mind, times that by the total customers they have. at my exchange there 11000 connections, that would be a added profit of £110,000 per month, from my exchange. Yet my speed has decreased not increased.
VERY POOR JOB WANADOO.

It costs the ISP roughly 1/4 million for the equipment backhaul etc then theres the running costs and I can assure you it is alot higher than £100 per year for rack space in a exchange maybe put 2-3 more 0's on the end.
As to the savings it is around £10 per month for standard costs per customer then theres the costs of the links to BT for the ISP aswell which for a 622meg capacity link its another 125k a month so in all if wanadoo do have 11000 connections on that exchange they are saving about 200k a month which will have paid for the install of equipment etc in 2 months.
One thing I have noticed from all LLU providers is that they have not taken into account that they dont have BT to fall back on for if the customer has any problems for example if you have a problem with your broadband with a LLU provider then all BT are interested in is the copper cable and thats all they test so if you have a dial tone without loads of static that proves the copper is fine.
IMO wanadoo has rolled out LLU trying to make a saving and not thought about how to support it all after, trying to sprint before they can walk on the LLU front and now it looks like they might just have cramp.
