well i finaly dumped this isp which over the last six months has become a pittyfull excuse for an internet connection, they refused llu MAC code so i had to cancel, becouse they could not fix a poor connection.
i need a no contract adsl isp Virgin seem to offer this.
has anybody got any info

I too had a real carry on with Orange - lost connection for 2 weeks, refused a MAC but gave excuses etc etc.

I know you wanted no ties but this company really is most excellent.

Virgin do offer a no contract broadband... but... There is a set-up fee and if I remember correctly (from a friend who recently cancelled her Virgin broadband), there may also be a cancellation fee - check this out first!
Because ISPs have to pay BT for the broadband line activation they will either tie you in to a year contract or charge you a set-up (or cancellation or both) fee to cover that cost. --- I am sure this is still the case.
When looking for your ISP, ensure you are fully aware of all charges and contract lengths... Whether you go for contract or no contract, once you do the sums, you will find that they total up to the same cost, give or take a pound or two.
ok signed up to Virgin.net 17.99 up to 8 meg, they say 6 meg easy.
6 gig limit no contract but £50 cancelation fee.
i will try to keep you posted on speeds i get compared to Orange who could only give me 2 meg at only 700m from the exchange.
tbh waiting for Sky package at 16meg £10
