<Livebox Issues? ~ How difficult is it to get a replacement live box.

I went away for the weekend, and being good to the environment turned everything off including my livebox. When I returned I swtiched back on and the livebox was failing to give out on IP address (dhcp service had failed) so put in a static IP on the same subnet and tried a ping, and it didn't respond, pressed the factory reset button, put the PC back to DHCP and still nothing. So as an educated person that tells me the interface is dead. Tried another cable etc, but its dead. So I rang the wonderous world of Orange support. I have spoken to more intellegent drunks on the street. I told them what I had done and that the interface was dead. They then asked me to lauch a web browser, now if the computer is not getting an IP address thats not going to work is it ? Or are they hoping for the IP fairies to work there magic.
I am now on my third "ring back" with no replacement live box in sight. Each time asking me the same questions, these are supposed to be increasing in technical knowledge at each ring back, but it appears they are just passing me round the room for entertainment value.
At what point does the cost of passing me round the room out weigh the cost of sending me a replacement router ? Guess I will find out
Has anyone else had problems connecting third party routers to Orange, tried connecting my Cisco router which was working with my previous provider so I know it works with the exchange/DSLAM as I am an IPStream customer but for some reason it authenticates to Orange then fails to get an IP from them, so a Layer 2 problem. My hypothisis is they are using registered MAC address's in there Radius server to stop people using other routers and to allow them to employ the mindless drowns they have on the suppot desk able to read a script but not capable of any coherient thoughts or problem solving abilities.
Anyway thats my rant over. But to summerise, would I recomend Orange to anyone else NOOO !!
