Hi guys lately i have been experiencing slow internet and wondered if you could help me with why that is or ways to make it faster
i thought my Orange internet was fine but since going to uni and using the internet in my halls which i assumed is shared with everyone else living there i realised my internet is really slow.
for example when downloading a film i only get 50-80 kb/s and it takes a good 2 hours or so to download, where as at uni in the halls the same download would take like 25-30 mins and reach speeds in the hundreds.
is this normal for my home internet connection to only download at 50/80 kb/s
i also found it really frustrating whenever i try to watch a live stream or use p2p software like sopcast as it always buffers or pauses..... does this have anything to do with my connection or settings.
i am with Orange broadband and use the wireless Orange livebox with the red @ light on the front.
i rang them up recently and just asked them to tell me what speed i should be getting and they said 4mb broadband
i am no techy so any help would be greatly appreciated.
