So a couple of weeks ago I moved from one building to another, and decided to carry my livebox across with me.
I got a BT landline installed in the new house, and phoned Orange to transfer said livebox to said new landline. They said that they would be happy to, and that I should wait up to ten days for the transfer to happen.
We are now comfortably beyond the ten day period and I am very much without broadband. When powered up and plugged in to a phone socket my livebox adopts the status of;
Wireless Light: Full
@ Light: Flashing very quickly
All other lights: Out
Computers can connect to the livebox quite happyly, but the livebox is unable to access the internet. Diagnostic informs me that this is a DNS error, but since I don't know what that means, that's hardly here not there.
This doesn't change if the livebox is disconnected from the phone line, leading me to suspect that this is the origin of my problem. I really quite desperately want to get this sorted out without going twelve rounds with Eastern Europe, so I'm hoping that one of you nice people can shed some light on the situation.
