I have a Seimens Gigaset router. I can connect to the router via wifi, and it's telling me I'm connected to the internet, but I can't access any websites/email/im etc.
Everything was working fine last night. Got up this morning and experiencing this. Indian customer service is a complete joke.
I'd move, but I get free broadband with my Orange mobile phone.

A word of advice from an ex-Orange customer.
Pay a little bit more for your broadband and get a decent service.
If you check the very first threads on this forum when it was formed back in 2006, the same problems are still occurring.....Orange are not going to improve very quickly are they ?
They're still telling me there's problems on the network. Although there status recorded message on their phoneline claims there are no problems with the network.
As for paying more for my service, I'm getting free broadband with a speed of 6-8Mb and a seemingly unlimited download limit (I play online, download 360 & PS3 demos all the time and have never had problems until this week).

Yes I am having the same problems in the Dunfermline area. Siemens modem/router tellsme I am connected but no access to emails, internet etc. Come on Orange and tell us when it will be fixed
Thanks mb910799. It's actually a relief to hear someone else is having the same problem and it's not just me. Orange customer support is so poor I can't believe a word they say.
I'm in Penicuik, near Edinburgh - so no too far away from you.

No you're not......you have no broadband
In all fairness I've had Orange Broadband for years (since it was Wanadoo) and this is only my third issue. First time my belkin router was disconnecting from broadband after they increased the speed of my line, they sent me free siemens router two days later.
Recently had an issue with one Xbox 360 game (Outrun Arcade) disconnecting from Live after a few minutes, which I haven't resolved yet.
My point is if Orange are giving me a fast, unlimited connection for free I'm sure as hell not going to give them any money! However I would be tempted to move to Sky and pay £5-£10 a month just to not have to deal with Indian call centres.
Started on Tuesday night I think..... not phoned them yet but not sure if it will help... just costs money. Will get sorted soon I hope. Have emailed JONATHAN Orange SUPPORT and see what he comes back to me with
Yes same with me..... been a customer since it was Freeserve. Only a couple of problems notably last year about October/November when I was without connection for about 2 weeks and got sent a new Siemens Gigaset modem which works fine.
Just need some better customer support from Orange

I'm in Dunfermline too. I first noticed that I had no Internet connection on Wednesday morning. I've got a Livebox and my second line (VoIP) phone was working, but now even it's offline.
I've had fantastic uptime with Orange until now (one or two outages to date which lasted less than an hour apiece). I'm just slightly relieved to hear that this seems to be a problem affecting users in the East of Scotland and not a fault on my line or with my Livebox.
I was disappointed to find no 'Network Status' indicator on the Orange site - I'm sure I've seen one in the past. Does anyone know of a currently operational one ?
I live in Dalgety Bay and have also got the problem mentioned by others where I have been unable to use internet or email since Wed AM.
I did attempt to get help from Orange but all I got was a cut and pasted reply asking me to check my router. When I told them I have a dlink router, they told me they could not support it. The router is not the problems.... I am able to do a PPPoE connect and it connects fine, and is allocated a valid Orange IP address. However, internet browsing and email is not working even when I am connected.
Not sure what to do next.... It is obviously a region wide problem but they don't seem to be listening...
