We've had a Wanadoo/Oange Livebox of some description for the last four years (we've actually got through four in that time!)
I've recently setup a small SBS 2003 network, with the server handling DHCP and DHCP disabled on the Livebox. So far so good. The server and four client machines (one wireless) can all connect (via a switch) and use network resources and the internet.
However, occasionally all machines will suddenly drop internet connections, although the indicator lights on the Livebox have not changed status at all. There is still a local network connection - all clients can access network drives. However, trying to ping the Livebox from either a client or the server results in a "Request timed out" message". At first I assumed it was the last change to the network - i.e. the server - that was the root cause of the issue. Shut down all clients and reboot the server - no change in internet connection.
Fiddle with the switch, check server settings. Nothing. Reboot the Livebox and suddenly the connection comes back. Anyone have any ideas what the cause of this behaviour is? It's driving me up the bleedin' wall!
