I have been experiencing high ping/latency due to my internet being set to interleave. I phoned up Orange and they claimed that they couldn't change this. I was told that I could fix the problem by phoning them up and asking them to turn interleaving off. Are Orange just lying to me, or is the only solution to change ISP? This problems been bugging me for a while now and I was just wondering if anyone else on Orange has turned off interleaving or has had a similar problem.
I am having the exact same issues. It began Monday evening and continued tonight (Tues). I spoke to Orange technical support, they told me to conduct 3 speed tests over the next 24hrs and then get back to them with the results. I told them that my ping had massively increased, from about 40ms to 800ms! but they didn't understand. Have you recently changed to interleave (as the problem is a new one) how did you learn of the change?
Please keep me updated.
And, i dialed 0800 2945611 to speak to Orange Broadband Technical support, i found it on the "saynoto0870" site
It has always been on interleave (I think) but it has only been causing problems recently, I have been having extremely high ping for a few weeks although it's mainly with with one server company, plugpayplay. So I spoke with them and they said it was only people on Orange broadband that had been experiencing this and they were unsure of the problem. They then discovered this was because of interleaving being on and that we'd need to phone them up to turn it off. http://www.plugpayplay.com/for...5&t=16.
Thanks for the number, I phoned up the 0870 one on their website and they didn't even know what I was talking about. I am about to phone the one you have given me and I will post again to keep you updated. Thanks for your help.
