Trying to connect Livebox to my MAC. Running MAC OS9.1 on an old iMac. I'm told it's possible; even the Orange free broadband information says it can be done with OS9 but I can't make it work. There is no wireless facility in the iMac so trying to connect via ethernet. Have made all the connections correctly (I think) but don't know what to do next. If you can help please make it an 'idiots guide' answer as my computer knowledge is not that hot. You'll need to tell me where things are if settings need to be changed. Sorry.
Thanks for your help. Problem now sorted. I now have broadband winging it's way in to my MAC via the Livebox. All I have to do now is work out how on earth I use email! Why is nothing straightrforward? Any ideas how I set up email using the Livebox. Ideally, I'd like to carry on using Outlook Express: is that possible?
just use the account setting area in outlook express and enter the Orange details:
* your name: eg - John Smith
* email address: eg - mail@yourname.orangehome.co.uk
* incoming mail server (POP3): pop.orangehome.co.uk
* outgoing mail server (smtp): smtp.orangehome.co.uk
* username: eg - yourname.orangehome.co.uk
* password: eg - YoUrPaSsWoRd (note case)
