Wondered if anyone here has ever had any joy once their speed slowed beyond all usability...
My down speed dropped to 0.5mbps last week. BT engineer confirmed BT line + internal cabling were fine and capable of 7.6mbps. Swapped out routers / filters but no change.
Speed was restored to around 6mbps for Wed/Thur this week (after many calls to India).
Now though, I'm back to between 0.3 and 1.0 down speed, irrespective of router (Draytek 2820n or Netgear DG834GT) and irrespective of connecting wired / wirelessly, trying test socket, swapping filters, etc. etc.
Loop attenuation = 18
SNR Margin = 7
Has anyone had this problem and actually received a proper fix?
Hi philby, I work for Orange and might be able to help.

I need around an unrestricted 50+ GB as I work from home, so no, Zen isn't any use - I'm going to decide tonight (well, if I can be bothered to wait for websites to load) who to go with...
I did actually get restricted by Orange once for using around 70 GB one month...
Asked for my PAC code, but instead they moved me on to the 10GB £15 per month package and haven't restricted any useage since!
as i said before your prob,is that your been capped or Orange are'nt buying enough bandwidth from BT so they restrict your download speed because of it,BT are'nt going to allow another bb provider more speed when they use there network to provide it!!!!
So basiclly BT customers get first priority than you, hence the drop in speed.
Also looking atthose tests notice the drop is after 6pm till 12.00 am
Cause look at that 1 12.59pm just when dinner time finishes notice how it shot up,when most peaple get off the internet and back to work!!!!
