I have a sagem livebox at our home in france that works perfectly - eventually with a lot of effort from yours truly - for every member of my family except for me on my company laptop. Which, considering that the whole reason for getting broadband at our French home, was to enable me to "work from home" while in France is somewhat irritating. (NB I also signed for the VOIP package too)
My difficulty is the work computer is "locked down" with no way to change its configuration in any way (at least not by me!) but I have used it succesfully all over the world with no previous problems to get internet and VPN connections.
A french colleague has told me that the problem is "well known" and that the solution is to change the sagem for an inventel. Given that the chance of a configuration change for the company laptop is slim to zero, I duly made the trip (3 hour) to the France Telecom/Orange shop where I originally signed up but was met with a flat refusal when I requested an exchange. They also told me to contact technical support to solve the problem.
Frankly my French is not up to a technical discussion (particularly as it is likely to be fruitless). All I want is a replacement Inventel livebox...
