You are not limited to using Orange's DNS servers on your computer. If they have an outage you can change the DNS server settings on PC so it goes through someone else, such as: https://www.opendns.com/homenetwork/start/computer/ You only need to complete step 1 to change to their servers for DNS queries.
You can always change back when Orange's outage is rectified.
Mine went off last night and I switched it to Open DNS since I've seen it mentioned here and elsewhere. It works a treat, I don't think I'll bother changing it back. I set the filtering up which gives a bit extra protection too.
