Hi,
I've been unable to send emails all day today. I can receive them but not send. I get the 550 error - email rejected by server.

Does anyone else have this problem? I have 3 PC's and it's the same with all of them. I'm on Wireless & Talk and I live in Buckinghamshire.

Hi pcpoo

Are you using Outlook, Outlook Express or similar email software on your computer?

If so, try changing the smtp to:

smtp.orangehome.co.uk

or, try (as I am still using):

smtp.wanadoo.co.uk

This OrangeProblem has come up a few times here.

Hope this does the trick

I have my smtp set to wanadoo.co.uk which has worked fine up until today.
Funnily enough, I've just tried 'replying' to an email and it went through OK. So it just seems that my problem is with sending 'new' emails.

I just can't make it out!

Try sending a new blank email to your own address, it'll probably go through fine. Might just be something in that email that the server's taking offence to.

Did you try orangehome.co.uk ?

You may be surprised!

Not sure why this occurs but I have seen this issue before (where emails will reply but not send a new one). It will make no odds if you try orangehome.co.uk as this is the smtp server which Orange now recommend in their help section

I've tried sending blank emails to my own address but with no luck.

Yes, I tried changing to orangehome.co.uk too, but again no luck.

Do you think this fault is with Orange's servers rather than my system? It seems strange that this is happening on all 3 of my PC's.

Hi, I have solved my email problem. It was my 'business card'. I have now deleted it!
