Hi there, hopefully someone can come to my rescue!
I've got the Livebox v1.1, was sent it ages ago and seeing as i've just got a new laptop i thought i'd dig it out and set it up.
Went through the set up of the livebox and when i tried to access the set up cd through my desktop pc got this error message...
"This app is not designed to run on your current OS. To run you will need Windows 2000 SP3+ or Windows XP SP1+. Please connect up your new router and open a web browser, you will be prompted for your internet details"
I thought it was a little odd because i've got XP SP3. Didn't really give it too much thought and went on to just set up the new laptop. No major problems, set it up wired first of all through the ethernet cable provided, then updated the firmware and got it connected wirelessly. Laptop is up and running.
Now i've gone back to the desktop to get that connected as well and i'm at a loss. Can't use the set up cd as it keeps giving the same error message. Had a trawl through the forums and know that you don't need the cd to set up but i can't get internet access from my desktop. I've tried hooking up the ethernet cable from the Livebox to my pc but it's still not happening.
Just not sure what to do next. Any help would be much appreciated.
Connect a computer up with a LAN cable to the red port and switch everything on. Fire up a web browser (IE/Firefox/whatever) and goto http://192.168.1.1
Click on the Access.... link and log in with Username Admin and Password Admin
Then goto My services, Internet and put your signup credentials into the boxes.
Follow the prompts.
This does make one or two assumptions about your system setup but it should work on most computers of whatever operating system. You're right, you don't need the CD. Pretty much all routers can be set up in a similar manner.
