hello, hope someone can help.
Had the Livebox for a few years with no problems with one wired desktop and a wireless Vista laptop.
Bought a Wii, as you do, had the usual problems connecting it, managed to connect but now the laptop won't connect. Presumably this is because I changed the WPA to WEP only, which was advised to get the Wii to connect, but changing it back hasn't worked.
Laptop knows the Livebox is there since it says the signal is excellent but it displays the message "The settings saved in this computer for the network do not match the requirements for the network".
No idea what else to do. Tried power cycling the Livebox, pairing, rebooting laptop, retyping WEP key, it just won't have it.
Thought about deleting the laptop network connection and starting again but not sure how to do this or whether it's necessary.
I just know it's something ridiculously easy but I can't see what it is.
Any ideas?

Your right on the money there Jon, your laptop still has the WPA settings saved.
I cant remember exactly how to get there but there should be an option to edit or delete a wireless connection from the wireless connection manager. Setting up your laptop for a WEP connection should resolve your issue.
If you want to connect use only WEP so you can use your Wi also as this is how you got it to connect, using your wired connection set this on the livebox first then follow these instructions to set up your Vista laptop:
Probably the easiest thing is to delete the network & thus settings and connect again with the new settings.
From the Start Menu on your laptop open Control Panel, Open Network and Sharing Center. Click Manage Wireless Networks. Delete the Livebox network.
Put the livebox into pairing mode using button 1 on the livebox. As before try to connect to the wireless network and enter the security key when prompted. It should then save these settings, OK any prompts to do so.

If Jon's Wii is able to connect when the livebox is set to WPA and WEP.
I would use these settings and then follow my previous instructions on connecting the laptop. If any problems connecting either device then can try the WEP setting.
Hi. I hope someone can help.
I've had a livebox for nearly 18 mths and only had an old MAC connected to it by cable. My son bought a Wii about 12 mths ago, and it picked it up on wireless without any problem - as soon as he turned it on. He then moved out, taking the Wii with him.
He moved back in (groan!) last month, bringing with him a PC laptop and the Wii ... neither of which he can get to connect on wireless now.
I've now bought a Macbook - and can't get that to connect to wireless either.
Can anyone advise ... and/or tell me if they know of a non-premium rate phone number for Orange help? Every time I ring 150 from my Orange contract mobile I go through a series of options til I'm told to ring a premium rate number.
I can't ring from my landline (also Orange) as I can't hear what anyone's saying when the internet is plugged in. So several issues here.
You can do a factory reset on the livebox by turning off the power and holding button 1 when you turn it back on, this should laod all the default settings.
What are the specifics of the problem you are experiencing?
It could be something simple like someone bought a livebox or another router in the mean time and their channel is interfering with yours.
In which case you can log into the livebox config pages through a wired connection and try different channel frequencies.
You could also try changing the security to, to WEP, WPA or both to see if that is causing any problems.
