i have just taken delivery of the livebox, and im having a problem getting access to the internet.
after following all the instructions and tried to install it for both a wired and wireless connection when i come to connect i keep getting told that my firewall is stopping the connection. however, both my norton and windows firewalls are disabled, and i dont have any more on my computer. the other odd thing is that when i look in the network connections panel, both the wireless or LAN (depending on what im using at the time) say they are connected fine. however, when i open the internet i just get nothing.
it seems to me that the installation program thinks there is a firewall or something else stopping the connection so i cant get to the stage when i type my user name and pass word in, which is why despite the fact im connected to the internet fine it wont let me access anything.
has any one else had similar problems, and can anyone think of a way round this?
Hi,
Go into the Livebox admin , user "admin" password "admin" and go to the security section and switch off the firewall. Close everthing down and switch back on your own firewall, it worked for me
How are you connecting to the livebox, wired or wireless?
Don't worry about the firewall on the livebox itself, it should effect this part of the connection at all.
If it's wired connect the cable and try to browse to 192.168.1.1, username and password are both "admin", you can then enter your broadband details on either the front page or in the My services, internet section to connect.
If it's wireless you need to establish the connection to the box first, let us know if it gets stuck gives an error or something else and we'll see.

I'm not that up to date with pc's in general
ok are you using windows to run the wireless or are you using intel or somthing like that, in any case if you see the moden in the wireless box right click on it see if you get anything that says profiles
Too many hours have been spent on this.. anyone who can help will go to heaven. My wired connection is fine. My wireless says connected but internet is saying page cannot be displayed.
When I try loading the Orange cd and click hook up wireless connection i do not get to the password entering stage, it tells me poss cause may be firewall - however all windows and livebox firewall is off. i think it must be something else.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with internal wireless - it works fine picking up other wireless connections!! Please, please advise..
