HELP! I'm new to this, having recently acquired a livebox and am now trying to activate my second line. I have called the 0800 number Three times, but have had no email from Orange with a number. Having emailed them about this they said they could activate 'manually' if I gave them my MAC No. and serial no. (from bottom of livebox) and IP address (from configuration site) The latter begins 84.xx.xx.xxx.
They replied saying one of these numbers must be wrong as they were unable to activate the second line.
Am I looking for these numbers in the right place?? What else could I be doing wrong? Has anyone else had this problem - it would be really useful to have some free calls enabled...
Ive had the exact same problem, still havent received email with phone number and still cant use the phone through the live box, You posted some 4 months ago - has it been resolved yet?
Instead of looking at the VOIP thread, look under 'Livebox Issues' thread and then heading 'Livebox info to activate second line'.
My question was answered here, and involved looking at the configuration information on 192.168.1.1 for my livebox.
Hope this gets you further along - I cannot remember the details of exactly what I did now, as it's quite a while ago, but let me know if my answer has helped!
I've had a look at my emails - the following info was sent to me from Orange when I raised my problem with them
"Once you have set up your Livebox to make and receive calls you need to
call 0800 975 0585 and then key in your home telephone number, followed
by the hash (#) key or to activate it manually for you, please send us
the following details:
1. MAC address (you can find this on the sticker on the bottom of your
Livebox)
2. Serial number (you can find this on the sticker on the bottom of your
Livebox)
3. IP address
a) To get your IP address, double click the icon on your desktop called
Configure the Livebox.
b) You will then find the IP address on the web page that's shown, by
the word - Connected.
If you do not have the icon Configure the Livebox on your desktop,
click on this link http://configuration.adsl/ you will find the IP
address on the web page that is shown, by the word- Connected.
We also require your permission to access your account to manually
activate the second line.
I think the problems lies with the IP address changing, and therefore Orange cannot activate. As long as the livebox remains active while the procedure is being done, it should be OK.
