Every time i try to login to WoW, it says my login details were wrong. So, I had a friend who is NOT with Orange/livebox try to login to the wow server with my login details and he was able to login just fine.
So, can someone help me? what im i doing wrong?
I tried calling Orange livebox support and im sorry to say, those are idiots who didnt even know what was the world of warcraft game, much less what an online game is. So, like you've guessed, they weren't much help at all.
If this dissapointing failures continues, i might as well switch to 10 mb/s fibre optic broadband from Virgin. Id rather not cause Orange makes a big fuss about clients who leaves them, so someone please help me.

You have a choice between Orange's ADSL and Virgin's cable in your area and you went for ADSL? WHY?!
Oh and you might just want to turn the DMZ off on your router if you dont know what your doing with it, it could be leaving that machine wide open to attack.
I'm pretty sure it's the Livebox. The only peice of security software i have is AVG Free (http://free.avg.com) and window's default firewall. I have Windows Vista Ultimate operating system. I dont have any third party firewall and i have already opened necessary ports on my windows firewall also. What does cookies and pop up blocker has to do with world of warcraft client not working :S lol?
@imthebossofme
I was orignally with a company called Wanadoo (they were one of the first to provide livebox + 8mb/s connection and then Orange took over the company). I have moving to different isps so i stayed with them. I did not have the choice of Virgin's fibre optic broadband at the time, this offer from Virgin is fairly new. Also, i know what DMZ is, it opens "all" ports on your router. I was kind of hoping it will allow me to play WoW (seeing as all ports are opened and nothing is blocked and no that dmz didnt help either).
It definately shouldnt have anything to do with cookies or browser settings, its either incorrect router settings or a software firewill blocking the traffic (check windows firewall for WOW exceptions).
I dont own a livebox myself so dont know what settings are available off hand. Is there a upnp setting you can enable? This should allow WOW to autoconfigure itself for use with your router.
I'd definately reccommend turning off the DMZ, that should only really be used if your hosting a webserver and want it to be available from the internet, otherwise your just sitting prey for malware & hackers.
I have 2 desktop and 2 laptops at home. Each computer has it's own ip on the router when ever we connect to the wifi.
I checked with command prompt and ipconfig /all to see what my ip was and this computer i am trying to get wow working always has the ip "192.168.1.102".
I tried with windows firewall off, didnt make any difference.
There is nothing wrong with the wow account, as i had a friend of mine login with my acc details and he could login and create charater and go as far as playing in the server.
WoW burning crusade used to work before. Then i went to uni and now i am back for winter holidays and launched the wow to let it update to WoWLK and after it updated, tried to login, no longer works.
Try disabling UPnP on the livebox see if it makes a difference.
Could try reinstalling WoW. The update software has given false positives in anti virus programs before, which has caused issues.
Its usually best to assign a static IP to prevent the possibility of it changing and traffic being routed incorrectly.
What is the exact error message you are receiving? If it is just saying your login details are wrong, I would think it would have established a connection to their server to authentic them.
