I received my livebox yesterday and tried to hook it up wirelessly.
I am connecting through a DabsValue Edimax 802.11g 54Mbps USB Stick. I installed this first.
I then plugged in the livebox as instructed and followed the instructions on the Orange installation CD. The dongle software scanned for and found the livebox, I clicked to connect and entered the WEP code and then I got an error message saying that the connection had failed and that maybe this was due to the firewall being enabled. I checked and both Windows firewall and McAfee firewall were disabled. It seems that the connection is made for a while but it is very weak (24%) and after a minute or so it disconnects.
I haven't tried a wired connection yet.
The computer is new and hasn't been previously connected to the internet.
I don't know much about technical matters and would be very grateful if someone out there could help me or point me to another thread which migth be of help.
Assuming the wired connection works, will it be easy to connect wirelessly afterwards...the main reason I went for this deal (apart from being an Orange mobile customer) was because I wanted wireless access...
Good question. But I don't think you have any options. I think you must prove that wired works. The machine address (MAC) stored at the Livebox will be the same whether wired or wireless. After you prove wired works just disable the wired network connection at the PC so it doesn't try and use it again.
Good luck. I also suggest you try this when you've got plenty of time. Nothing takes up time more than trying to get a wireless connection running reliably.

You need to do the first connection wired ie ethernet cable. Once this has been done and livebox installed you can use the pairing button to pair up other pcs and then to use wirelessly. i have 3 pcs hooked up to mine ok.
