i have phone Orange tech support twice today in an effort to get interleaving taken of my line (changed to fast connection type) first atempt the guy i was speaking to didn't seam to understand what i wanted and thought i wanted to leave Orange broadband.
second time i finialy got to talk to someone who appeared to understand what i was saying, however they told me that there is no interleaving on my line. yet when i look at the system infomation in the livebox it says the connection type IS interleave not the alternative fast. also the latency and ping is far to high for interleaving to be off.
i was wondering if anyone has actualy mannged to get Orange to turn interleaving off and how did you go about it.
You'd be lucky to get someone to really understand not only what you want, but what they actually need to do in order to get Interleave switched off.
As you say Interleaving slows your connection down and increases the pina/latency due to the nature in which it works, but makes your connection more stable. Interleaving is switched on when there's been some stability problmes with your connection.
How can I tell if my line has interleaving switched on? I've checked my Livebox and it says "Type: Fast" (would this be "Type : Interleave" if it had been activated?) - I'm getting really big lag problems with online games and someone suggested last night that it was due to interleaving.
