I'm using the siemens router, and have NEVER managed to connect to the Orange servers. I can get the DSL light solid, and the router can see the obviously see the DSL signal, but cannot get online. I have spent a fortune speaking to Orange "technical" support, who are now on their 4th line test, and keep asking me to reset the box, re-enter username and password, etc etc etc. Same problem every time - no fault on the line found, and they keep having to "escalate".
It sounds like a simple authentication issue (trying to be techie!) - but the callcentre support lot don't seem to be able to access anything on the Orange servers to see what they are doing - username and passwords are exactly correct at my end.
Can anyone offer any assistance ? - i've never had such shoddy unhelpful service and appear to be going round in orangecallcentre circles of hell....!
Ring Orange and demand your MAC code so you can move to a real ISP.
They have to provide you with this within 5 working days by law, regardless of any remaining contract.
Contracts work both ways you see and they haven't provided a service yet again.
I can thoroughly recommend o2 (now Sky) or Idnet as excellent ISP s.
