Well I gave my MAC code to Sky and they will be connecting us on the 23rd Dec and we received the wireless router today. However... i thought the whole idea of MAC codes was so that the transition between isp's was easy and without disruption. Since this morning the internet connection has been off/on... more off than on and it's driving me nuts! Is this because we have cancelled with Orange or could it just be a coincidence.. has anyone experienced this when they have cancelled?
Ensure you are connected now with Sky, you'll be able to tell as your old router authentication will no longer work, most likely you'll get a slow @ on your livebox with "invalid ADSL authentication" response, error 691 on a speedtouch modem.
The only downtime a customer should experience is that of switching authentication devices. If the connection is dropping and you are connected now with Sky then you need to take it up with them.

read the date of the post you will see the OP want due for connection til yesterday 23rd so the issue was with Orange who are renowned for slowing down your connection after they provide you with a MAC.

Trivial considering Orange don't control the connection speeds, Openreach do, even on LLU, nevermind though and seen as Openreach won't throttle a connection without just cause...oh dear hehe
Was but a forewarning if the OP does experience problems in the future with MAC transition.
