Can someone please explain in as simple terms as possible how I go about connecting a wireless enabled laptop to the livebox. I have looked through previous posts, but most of these deal with problems, and I would like to kow the basic principles.
Can I leave the PC (which is not wireless enabled) hard wired and connect a laptop wirelessly to the livebox?
Do I need to reconfigure the livebox, if so how?
I haven't got the laptop yet, and it seems from some of the posts that there problems with WAP/WEP? with some makes. Are there any that would be best avoided?
Apologies for being such a numpty
Thanks in advance.

yes, you can have both wired and wireless connections at the same time.

Wireless is usually enabled by default. You need to press the pairing button on your livebox when you first attempt to connect the wireless laptop. This puts the livebox into pairing mode for 10 minutes and should only need to be done the first time. You need to use your laptop to search for & connect to your wireless connection, entering the security key that's printed on the label on the bottom of your livebox when prompted. Your laptop can then usually remember the connection & connect automatically in the future.

Most of these problems can be solved by altering the livebox settings so it only uses 1 or the other and not try to use both.
