We are currently paying £18 a month for the Orange max broadband however on various speed test sites it says we have a 0.5-1mb speed. This reflects on internet page loading times which are very long and on games my ping is always 180+ We haven't had these slow speeds with previous ISPs but we are tied down with a years contract with Orange. Is there anyway of getting out? I have checked with other ISPs and I found we could be getting much higher speeds for cheaper prices.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Well, i have only 3.2m download speeds, but in your case, i think its the area you live in. Too far away from the telephone exchange maybe? Delete some cookies and tempory files, and maybe that could make it faster! Hope that helps!
Could try posting your line stats to see if there are any issues?

Various people have recently reported a degraded experience in their online gaming or web page load times with Orange. This seams a system wide issue.
Getting out of contract without having to pay out the rest of the contract really depends how sympathetic Orange is to your situation. If they are not providing the service they agreed you may have more of a case.
