The LM-001 is offered on Orange website as Livebox connector. When installing via Livebox CD offers option of having Orange adapter as part of evaluation of laptop but says not install yet. Carries out evaluation and then tells you to activate the Wifi card in laptop instead so you don't need to use Orange adapter (i.e. LM-001 that you have just bought)
Needless to say, it won't connect with the Wifi card in laptop and never offers chance to connect LM-001 - anybody got any ideas, don't want to do a factory reset. Laptop works fine with direct network cable connection to Livebox (Inventel type I think) Anybody got any ideas on this?
(ps With Orange since 1996 and the receding grey hair to prove it)
If your laptop comes with built in WiFi. Then you do not need the LM-001. To access the Laptop Wifi you need to look for a switch or a button on the case of the laptop with a little symbol next to it that looks like .
Press this and you have Wifi enabled on your laptop..
If you do wish to use the LM-001.. The easiest way to do this is to plug in the LM-001 to your computer... Install the software that came with it.. Open the software once installed.. And connect to the Livebox with the WPA key underneath the Livebox..
thanks for help but not made any difference. No problem with wired connection.
Have Dell latitude D820 running Xp Pro SP2 up to date (not installed Sp3) which is native wifi Intel Pro Set Wireless a/b/g. Possible to run wifi via windows as well. With Livebox using Intel or Windows, just get 'acquiring network address' as on the big post of 1/1/2007, but cannot consider follow instruction there to restore factory settings.
When try to connect with LM001, use Dell wifi switch to turn native wifi off so only using LM001. Put LM001 into USB, then CD to locate and install drivers. Then separately install software from CD so that can view settings. LM001 recognises Livebox and some settings. Always press pairing button 1 of course. Problem seems to be adding Livebox WPA key, does not seem to retain in LM001 config, LM001 screen just scrolls 'connecting' for ever.
Any more ideas?
