Orange have finally pi**ed off so much im now going to leave them. Im on the unlimited up to 8mb package, and when i signed up no mention was made of the maximum speed i could get, so i took 4mb to be a decent speed.
Over the course of a year, it has got slower and slower, to the point 2 weeks ago it went down to less than 1mb. So i complained to Orange and got them to do a line test. I left a mobile number to contact me on, and they tried to ring on the line i use only for broadband, and wondered why no one answered!. I then had to phone back to find out why it had now gone down to 0.5mb, got put through to the technical department, and he told me it was permanent, but couldnt tell me why, and told me to ask the customer services dept.
Back and forth it continued, so finally i just pressed the option to leave Orange and got through to the english call center. I told her i wanted a refund on this months bill, and them to pay for my calls. This i got, and was told their technical dept were going to look into it and ring me between 6pm and 9pm tonight. Wasted a evening and no call, so i rang them and pressed the leaving Orange option, and asked them why their customer service was so appalling, and why noone had bothered to contact me to explain the appalling speed. I was told it was a there to stay because of them now using their own equipment. So im stuck with a crap speed, and they kindly told me i didnt have to honour my contract. Im in Ashford kent by the way.
Anyone got any suggestions for other broadband providers?. Are BT anygood?

BT are just as bad for throttling and are expensive go HERE check the ISP ratings and customer comments, and HERE for an unbiased comparison, also check the ISP foums on last link to see what customers are saying.
